Press releases

But what dysplasia? Persevering of the East.

Translated from the Italian original.

Ripbblich this article which had obtained numerous consents and comments, temporarily obscured for an ongoing judicial procedure.

The veterinary clinic, mentioned in the letter to follow and about which. to not raise dust. we omit the name (so many who read, read), has filed a complaint to our breeder President Stefano Bartolini. Despite the editorial staff . In the meantime, the Clinic has removed the article, confirmed the complaint, even asking for a certain amount to withdraw it. Our President, knowing he is right, did not bow to this request and reacted by letting his lawyers know, that he would go to the bottom, preparing in turn a complaint for attempted fraud and maltreatment against the dog and putting the evaluation back on a Judge. This, as you will read at the bottom, was enough to straighten the situation.

Let us briefly remember the misadventure of our Socio Roberto, which was proposed expensive operation with implants for a supposed dysplasia of its own boxer, which proved non-existent after plates with official reading of the Dr. Piccini.

Unfortunately, the case of Roberto This is not the case: isolated: diagnosis of farcche and expensive surgical remedies, real scams, in contempt of animal welfare. The owners take a lesson, which is: that of being aware and not to be confiscated or to be conditioned/scared by the medics, who are not always disinterested. The mestieranti, who try to make turnover even with non-orthodox methods exist even in a category, such as the medical-veterine. Today, however, the information and the ease of sharing via the web their experiences offer a competitive advantage even to the less unspoiled owner.

Those who want to raise their earnings with these systems could incur the epilogue of this Veterinary Clinic, which not content themselves with trying to cheat and being lied to, wanted to claim judicially to be right. They were probably not informed about the stubbornness of our President, who, challenged where he had the certainty of being in the right, went to wedding. Moral: the Clinic withdrew the complaint, giving up all compensation and paying his legal expenses. Hoping that the lesson serves many, remember the old adage: erratic is human, persevering by Klöd.

Roberto's letter

Hello, Stefano.

I read, on your facebook page, about your commitment and struggle against all those veterinary clinics that operate with coldness and cynicism, keeping the respect and the REAL good of those who cannot defend themselves under the sole of the feet, with the sole purpose of cashing out. Specifically, I refer to what is the emblem of your struggle, namely, the dysplasia that is so easily found on the boxers and for this I would like to tell you what happened to my dog. I have a boxer, a beautiful male of about nine months (I say and emphasize nine months!!!!!).

About three months ago, when the dog was six months old, I went to the veterinary clinic "XXX" in my area (I live in La Spezia), whose manager is Doctor XXX. Ever since he had his small study, for 13 years, I entrusted him with the care of the dogs that in this time period I possessed, I say this much to say how much confidence in this person I have always poured.

Well, I'm going to the clinic because my boxer, when he was six months old, had to make the third and last call. At the same time I take advantage of this opportunity, since for a few days I saw my dog who had a bad way of holding a back leg, to signal it and then to deal with the possible causes.

I once again press that my dog, only those with a boxer can only agree with me, in full vitality and liveliness of his few months of life, made me difficult the possibility of containing his irrefutableness when I brought him out to the garden, but I did not immediately realize this.

I have the dog's problem done and then externally to the doctor, he tells me to take it out, to let him walk so much to see how he behaves. After a superficial analysis based only on the vision of the walk, he starts asking me, already in his dawn anxiety has begun to come out, however, he gives me a painkiller to the dog and tells me to make an appointment to do the X-ray examination.

I come home after the secretary tells me that for the exam they would call me, but I already from the evening I saw the dog feel better and this also in the days to follow, the painkiller had done really well, I thought that surely the dog, in its inexcusence, that problem to the leg if certainly had obtained it playing in the garden, but now the doubt had put it in my head, sure the problem that a paw was definitely bad was due to a blow taken unintentionally, but it is a boxer and my doctor of trust told me that it is advisable, to prevent, to make a boxer the radiographs of the hips to prevent in the future a possible dysplasia, since this race suffers, so I did not cancel the appointment and when they called me, after about ten days, I took my dog to do the radiographic examination.

The appointment was for nine o'clock in the morning, after about half an hour the doctor in question comes to the waiting room and pre-anesthesias the dog that, after a few minutes, he is indormented. He and his young assistant take him in his arms and take him to do the x-rays telling me to wait and that when finished they would call me and tell me everything. About 11 (after three hours!!) the doctor goes out and while heading towards the coffee machine looks me in the eyes shaking my head and tells me "there are problems, serious problems": if at that moment I did not faint, little was missing, I go to do an examination to the dog that I considered only a prevention and I find myself with a serious problem, however I ask for clarification, what had happened so much to come out with those faces and above all with those words?

What he tells me causes me to collapse the world of the dog, in a few words, from the X-rays made, it was already a marked dysplasia, even on both of the hips a dysplasia that requires, in the interest and health of the dog, a surgery of PROTESI TOTAL OF ALSO.

After those few minutes of dismay, I ask first of all of the dog and tell me that at the moment it is in the radiological room and advise me to leave it there until it can be safely resumed, then the veterinarian invites me in his study and there, without having to see the plates, takes in his hand a pen and a sheet of paper and he starts to explain to me what is dysplasia making drawings of the arts making me also see how the femurs must, in a correct way, stay inside the acetabolo and how instead those of my dog are presented, I continue to ask more specifically what my dog has concretely to have to undergo such an invasive intervention already in his few months of life, knowing and also expressing that degrees of dysplasia, even of the boxers, are recognized, even accepted, by the cynophilic bodies.

The veterinarian then explains to me, (always without ever having to see the plates!!!) that the degree that my dog presents goes beyond the degrees recognized and accepted by the various cynophilous bodies, and tells me that it can safely certify a dysplasia beyond the grade C and that the dog, if you do not intervene immediately, surely I would have found myself, in a few years, a dog with serious problems in the limbs not excluding also the probability of not being even more a car dog...

At that moment my head was in complete confusion and in complete dismay, not even being able to elaborate on what to do, I said only that before making a decision on what to do I wanted to contact the breeder who sold it to me and then, after hearing it, I would make a decision.

At that point, when I heard about the breeder, the veterinarian started saying: "You will see that you will come across a rubber wall, the breeders know it from experience, always pulling out saying that their dogs have never had and suffered from these problems because they operate accurate seletions on the race and that these problems that are found after some time in the puppies sold by them are almost due to an incorrect behaviour by the owners themselves in managing the puppy. There are breeders who even propose, not to have of these boredoms that would cloud their fame and image, a replacement of the puppy itself as if this was an inanimate object, but in reality they know that the owner will never come down to such a pact, but while doing so they have the alibi to say that the willingness to come together they have put it."

However, I finally take my dog and torno at home staying with the agreement that I would later hear about the decision that I eventually made. In fullness, when I got out of there, I was not quiet and I am not referring only to the conditions found to my dog, but to the strange behaviour of the veterinarian to whom I had in all these years expressed all my confidence that had left me, in leaving, a feeling of perplexity about the procedure carried out.

I only felt the breeder, with the hope that his knowledge of the breed, his goodness of breeder earned after many years of work, could make me feel serenity again on how to cope with this unexpected and dramatic situation. I contacted the breeder who immediately, to tell the truth, made himself available but above all, succeeding in this way to calm my state, told me that first thing I should not take for cast gold what comes from a first examination and before dressing my head we needed these tests repeat them in LPellando another veterinary study and if it is necessary also a third especially, after I have put it to the knowledge of the facts, when certain veterinary clinics proceed and exercise methods so absurd and inconceivable, specifically in releasing diagnosis so serious about the dog without even having to do the owner the radiographies themselves, limiting themselves to describe the clinical picture, with simple drawings. So he himself made himself available to bring my dog to his veterinarian who works with methods that do not work with those that unfortunately.

But first, as I promised, I call the clinic to warn the veterinarian of my intention, after having felt with the breeder, to proceed with the repetition of the examination to the dog and, at the same time I asked if he could kindly put me in writing, so that I could present myself by his colleague, with the diagnosis he found in order to compare it, in order to reach more easily a possible confirmation. My amazement was great when the next day the doctor forwards the report, no more was spoken of a total prosthesis surgery of the hips but of "a surgical correction with TPO technique," also to be considered invasive, also advising to intervene as soon as possible.

However, on the established day, I bring the dog to make this new and further visit aimed at repeating the X-ray examination again to the hips. Here was another thing, first of all the veterinarian the doctor. Biondi, who was also the first time I saw, made me attend the examination explaining me, while he carried out it, as this procedure must be done correctly and after having done the examination also made me attend to the reading of the same. From the reading of the plates it was found that the dog did NOT show relevant symptoms of dysplasia of the hips, at the most there was a slight anomaly that however could fit well in those values recognized also by the same cynophilous bodies and, as far as this situation was concerned, the dog in the future would have lived quietly his life as any other normal dog.

However, for a more careful analysis and for a greater tranquility towards me, the doctor himself, thought to send the X-ray examination that he carried out to his colleague, Dr. Picini, who works at the "Ce.Le.Ma. Sche" the center where the readings of the skeletal diseases of dogs are carried out and whose results are then recorded on the official certificates of the dogs themselves. Well, for a few days I have received the outcome of this center that has done nothing but confirm the response of the doctor Biondi. The degree of dysplasia of my dog is grade B, and that is, NORMAL QUASI (grade A is considered normal).

You understand Stefano, if the love I have towards my dog had not been so strong, since the veterinarian to whom I had given full confidence for years had "condemned" to an unnecessary and invasive intervention, and for me it was expensive (they asked me for the nice amount of € 2,200 + VAT) today I would surely have found a dog really and irremediably ruined. At the same time I must add that also the confidence that I immediately poured towards the breeder, which he himself returned, helped to make sure that on this story it was not reached writing a tragic final.

That's why I wanted to tell you my story, so that you, who have the means and the possibilities to do so, can report to the organs in charge the filth that some (I hope of true heart that there are few) veterinary clinics exercise. Clinics that put the real good of our dogs under the sole of the feet, thinking, in light of what I have been through, as mentioned at the beginning of this letter, only to cash in because all those expensive machines and equipment that they have can't keep them doing just simple vaccines.

I must consider myself, in this circumstance, lucky., but how many are going through and experiencing the situation that I have been through? How many, in good faith and trust, will find themselves with their dog irreparably ruined?

This is why I am talking to you. If you can really help all those dog owners who unknowingly believe that their dog is in the right hands and then, instead, they will find themselves with their dog ruined forever, please be aware, denounce the various bodies in the dog sector but also the medical organs what is actually happening, that they stop these clinics and these veterinary doctors from getting better on the health of our dogs by ruining them forever.

A cordial greeting, Roberto.
